Designate a Vindicia Subscribe Customer Account as Tax-Exempt for All Transactions
To make a customer account tax-exempt for all transactions, set the value of the tax_exemptions attribute on the Account object to the appropriate entity use code that identifies the reason the account is tax-exempt. The tax_exemptions value is used with external tax system rules. For more information about the tax_exemptions attribute, see Account Object Attributes in the Vindicia Subscribe API Reference Guide.
The list below designates entity use codes which can be used as values for tax_exemptions. Setting a value for tax_exemptions is not required.
The attached spreadsheet on Entity Use Codes is provided by Avalara, and identifies exceptions to the tax-exempt status by each state. For example, Agricultural Production (H) is exempt in most states, but in California it is taxed at a 1% tax rate.
