Testing Transaction Data

Before moving to production (with Vindicia Subscribe or Retain), you must test your application’s payment processing in a simulated environment to ensure that your transactions behave as expected. It is important to verify that valid transactions return a success response and invalid transactions return a failure response. Vindicia offers a staging environment with a simulated payment processor to test data for transactions using credit cards, Electronic Check Presentment (ECP), and Boleto Bancário (for transactions in Brazil.) The tables below provide the following test data:
  • For credit cards: dummy credit card numbers and response codes for Address Verification Service (AVS) and Card Verification Number (CVN) checks. The simulated payment processor authorizes all credit cards with a valid Bank Identification Number (BIN), which is the first six digits of the card number.
  • For Electronic Check Presentment (ECP): dummy routing numbers.
  • For Boleto Bancário (applicable only to transactions in Brazil): dummy fiscal numbers.
In Subscribe, all transactions transition into an AuthorizePending status after initial authorization (except for transactions not approved at the beginning, which are eventually captured or cancelled according to the specified timeouts.)

Credit Card Test Data

Vindicia recommends that you test for expected successful transactions and expected failed transactions by credit card type. The simulated payment processor processes the card numbers and returns the respective AVS/CVN response codes and Subscription success or failure code, as described.
