Overview of Transaction Reconciliation
An essential task for all merchants is to ensure that the revenue generated from sales of products and services is actually received. Vindicia recommends that you conduct regular audits to reconcile Vindicia Subscribe transactions with payment processor transactions and deposits. This article describes how to reconcile transaction records in Vindicia Subscribe with those in Litle. For information about working with data from Chase Paymentech, see Example: Reconcile Transaction Data with Chase Paymentech For more information about transaction reconciliation see Settlement ReconciliationAbout Transaction Records
Transaction records are presented somewhat differently in reports from Vindicia Subscribe and in reports from payment processors. The following are some differences between transaction reporting from Litle and Vindicia Subscribe:- Litle presents transactions based on the date of processing. Refunds are presented as separate transactions. Thus, if a customer makes a purchase on Sept.15th and then receives a refund on Sept. 23rd, the report presents two transactions: one for the purchase and capture on Sept. 15th and one for the refund on Sept. 23rd.
- Vindicia Subscribe presents each transaction based on the date it was initially authorized, but identifies the current status of the transaction. Thus, if the a customer makes a purchase on Sept.15th and receives a refund on Sept. 23rd, the report presents one transaction on Sept. 15th, but shows the status as Refunded. The transaction does not appear in the Capturedtransactions for that date. Vindicia Subscribe updates the same transaction in the database rather than logging multiple transactions.
