Credits in Subscribe
Vindicia Subscribe allows you to grant or revoke credits to Accounts and Subscriptions. Credits may be Tokens (virtual currency), currency, or gift card based. Typically this is done in response to a customer service call. Alternatively, product purchase can also be a credit granting mechanism.
When a transaction is processed, Vindicia Subscribe automatically deducts available Credits of the same type (currency type or token) from the corresponding Subscriptions or Account, before billing the designated Payment Method for the remaining balance. Credits granted to a subscription will be used first before Account credits.
Note: Credits can be either granted intentionally or inadvertently. For example, when a Merchant Acceptance Payment Subscription requires a refund this cannot be performed immediately due to a lack of known payment method – so instead a credit is created and reflected in the balance of the customer’s next invoice.
When time credits are allocated to a Subscription the billing process is delayed by the amount of time granted. The extended time period provided is a credit redemption.
Credits can be granted by Subscribe API or in the Subscribe Portal. The Subscribe Merchant Portal easily allows to grant or revoke credits, track credit activity, receive credit reports or download full credit activity data.
