Gift cards are prepaid cards used to purchase products. The Gift card holds an amount of money and currency that can be redeemed to Subscribe. The redeemed amount of the gift card is credited to the Account as a credit balance and can then serve as payment balance for existing or new subscriptions. The gift card therefore does not serve as a payment method rather a crediting mechanism of the customer’s account. Two objects support Gift card functionality:
  • Gift Card Redemptions: This is the main endpoint that is used to redeem the gift card .The merchant calls this endpoint when a customer wants to pay by gift card. When this object is created, it also creates the Gift Card Object. When the gift card is redeemed the Account’s credit object is also updated, see credited currency amount..
  • Gift Card: This object holds information about the gift card itself and is created alongside the Gift Card Redemptions object.
