Announcements

Data Hashing Upcoming Changes

As part of a security enhancement, Vindicia is ensuring the security of our platform and protecting merchant data by upgrading its internal hashing algorithm to SHA512. The SHA512 algorithm provides a more robust hash function that reduces the risk of brute-force attacks and ensures that hashed sensitive information is more secure and less susceptible to security breaches. During the month of July, the new capability will be released to Vindicia’s staging environment for extended testing. What it means to you? Vindicia continues to accept all hashed data as SHA1 as was previously the case with no change to how you provide hashed data. Vindicia will respond with data hashed as SHA512. If you would like to store the hashed data, adjust your system to hold the longer format. This behavior will be occurring from mid-July in Vindicia staging environments.
