Subscribe Features
This release includes the following new Subscribe features:Subscribe Tax Data Enhancement in REST API
In this release, the following tax enhancements were made in Subscribe:- Subscribe address object has been extended to accept tax area identifier as an optional input. Subscribe is not validating this data. When present, this data is passed to Vertex for tax calculation. This value is stored and returned in Subscribe external interfaces (API and push notifications). Note: If the Merchant provided tax_area_identifier is invalid (i.e., is not an existing tax_area_identifier in Vertex), Subscribe will receive an error from Vertex.Subscribe will note this error in the Transaction metadata, and proceed based on Merchant configuration (ACTION_ON_TAX_FAILURE_ID). For Vertex, tax_area_identifier takes precedence over address. If the Merchant provided tax_area_identifier exists in Vertex but is incorrect for the provided address, tax impositions will be calculated for jurisdictions associated with the tax_area_identifier.
- Subscribe tax item object has been extended to save the imposition type and imposition type identifier returned by Vertex.
-
For Vertex interface only, if the company field on the Account is populated (not null), Subscribe passes the
IsBusinessIndicatoras true. - Postal codes of 9 digits will be sent in full to all tax vendors.
-
Tax Exemptions: Merchants can optionally set
tax_use_codeon the Account object to indicate the reason for the tax exemption. This code is not validated and is passed as provided to Vertex. - The Invoice object includes the sales tax address used for calculating tax for the invoice. This is returned for invoices reaching due status and subsequent statuses.
