# Configuration Method - Merchant Options

Merchant Options serve as the general configuration in Vindicia and will be used for all merchants.

Merchant Options are accessed and configured by Vindicia employees with Admin privileges in Subscribe Portal 1.0 **Admin** > **Merchant Configurations**.

Currently the Vindicia Merchant Options appear in random order and are not classified by categories. Use this guide to help you learn which option to use for a specific purpose. Additionally, hover over the blue question mark in every row to learn more about the specific configuration.

Most fields have a default value configured.

Use the following common values to configure merchant options:

* **1** - Enter this value to enable the field's operation (means true in a boolean choice). For example, entering 1 for a field called **CASHBOX\_AB\_FULL\_AMOUNT\_AUTH**, enables the subscription (autobill) full amount authorization.
* **0** - Enter this value to disable the field's operation, (means false in a boolean choice). For example, entering 0 for a field called **CASHBOX\_AB\_FULL\_AMOUNT\_AUTH**, disables the capability to authorize the subscription's (autobill) full amount.
* **Null** - Empty value often entered by default. The system chooses the default setting.
* **Specific value for a field** - Some fields need either numerical or character input such as number of days for a capability, number of attempts for a capability, or a name of a provider. For example, for the field, **WEB\_SESSION\_LIFESPAN**, you'd need to enter the lifespan time of a session in seconds. Default is 3600 seconds, you can change that number to a different one.

**Note:** Merchant options can also be modified via SQL commands in the database table (merchant\_option table)hink
