# Vertex Tax Settings

The required general settings to enable the connection to a Vertex Sales Tax engine are as follows:

| ST\_VENDORS | Required | With this setting, you can select whether you need to collect Sales Tax or not, and if so, select from: Avalara or Vertex. | Vertex |

| STV\_VRTX\_COMPANY | Optional | Can be used to define the seller company. | iwcl\_sales\_tax\_vertex |
| STV\_VRTX\_DEDUCED\_COUNTRIES | Optional | This allows for overriding the system settings regarding tax inclusion. When this option is null, the system will use US & Canada as price exclusive tax countries and all the others as price inclusive. This merchant option is a list of country codes, space-separated, which reverse that meaning. So "US DE" would use exclusive pricing in CA and DE, and inclusive pricing in the US and everywhere else. In addition, if the option begins with '\*', all countries are flipped . This allows setting all prices to tax-exclusive with "\* CA US", which otherwise would require listing every single country code. | nullNote - countries should be specified with a 2 letter code. |
| STV\_VRTX\_POST\_WITH\_INVOICE | Required | 1 = Capture Post uses INVOICE 0 = Capture Post uses DISTRIBUTE | Recommended /Default setting is 1. |

| STV\_VRTX\_HOST\_VERSION | Required | Indicates the Tax server version we will work with. Vindicia Supports versions 7,8 & 9 of Vertex O series | 7,8,9 |
