# Processing One-Time PayPal Express Checkout Transactions

**Note:**

The section above titled "Implementing the PayPal Transaction Flow" outlines the SOAP API calls for processing a transaction. The instructions below provide additional information about processing one-time transactions.

To process one-time PayPal Transactions:

1. For the first SOAP API call, call either `Transaction.authCapture` or `Transaction.auth`:

   * `Transaction.authCapture` queues the Transaction for batch capture immediately upon calling `Transaction.finalizePayPalAuth` in step 2. This causes Vindicia Subscribe to automatically capture the Transaction in the next batch.
   * `Transaction.auth` allows you to choose when you want to queue the Transaction for batch capture (using `Transaction.capture` in step 3). This allows you to delay adding the Transaction to the batch until it is explicitly captured.
Vindicia Subscribe creates a Transaction object using the information passed in the call, with status `AuthorizationPending`.

2. For the second SOAP API call, call `Transaction.finalizePayPalAuth`.

Vindicia Subscribe changes the status of the Transaction from `AuthorizationPending` to `Authorized`.

3. To queue the transaction for batch capture:

   * If you called `Transaction.authCapture` in step 1, Vindicia Subscribe automatically queues the Transaction for capture.
   * If you called `Transaction.auth` in step 1, call `Transaction.capture` to queue the Transaction for batch capture.
Vindicia Subscribe captures the PayPal transactions in batches, usually twice a day.
