# Implementing GoCardless Direct Debit
1. Register with GoCardless for a merchant account. GoCardless will provide the following details:
GoCardless:Creditor, GoCardless:apikey, and GoCardless:token.
1. Request configuration in support of this payment method from Vindicia Support. Provide details from (1) to Vindicia Support. They will set these up as Name/Value Pairs in your merchant configuration on Vindicia Subscribe.
* Vindicia Support will add GoCardless as the Merchant Payment Provider in your merchant configuration.
* Vindicia support will add GoCardless in the Routing Rules in your merchant configuration. (For example: Rule Method: payment\_method and value DirectDebit).
A merchant configuration looks like this:
2. Plan for incorporating the GoCardless UK Direct Debit Payments option within your customer-facing “buy flows or checkout processes.”
3. Refer to the Vindicia Subscribe API Guide to find out how to create one time purchases and subscriptions. UK Direct Debit will be used if the payment method set up is Direct Debit, the currency is GBP, and the shipping country code is GB.
