# Creating a PayPal Express Checkout Sandbox

Work with PayPal to create a PayPal sandbox which enables you to recreate all possible use cases available on your Vindicia Subscribe production site. You can replicate your working conditions in the PayPal sandbox, and recreate all applicable test cases for your Vindicia Subscribe system.

For more information about creating a PayPal sandbox, see the [PayPal Developer documentation](https://developer.paypal.com/).

1. In the PayPal sandbox, select **Grant API Permission** to enable Vindicia Subscribe API access to the PayPal sandbox.

2. For the API account username, enter `qapayp_1241651250_biz_api1.vindicia.com` (the user name in the transaction that Vindicia Subscribe presents to PayPal.)

**Note:** This username is different from the one used in the Vindicia Subscribe production environment.

3. Under API Access Level, select all available options to enable complete access.

4. For greater clarity, create two email accounts for use in the PayPal Sandbox: one to represent you as the seller (merchant), and one to represent your customer as the buyer.
