# Write Off an Invoice

Once you believe an invoice debt can't be collected from a customer, it is possible to mark the invoice as a Write-Off.

Writing Off an invoice is an action relevant only for **Merchant Accepted Payment** payment method and is a manual process invoked by you via the Subscribe API or Subscribe Merchant Portal.
