# Credit Card Fraud Management

Fraud detection and management for credit card payments is more important than ever, requiring you to mitigate the risk of fraud or face costly revenue loss. Businesses that offer products or services via subscription may be at extra risk of fraud as fraudsters often test credit card validity by making small initial purchases for digital goods before using the card in question for a bigger theft.

Vindicia has partnered with CyberSource Fraud Management. This partnership enables you to work with the fraud's industry best-practice rules as part of our Subscription Management solution and expand, at any time, to a more tailored solution.

Vindicia offers the following Fraud Management options:

* **CyberSource Fraud Management Essentials** - An integrated white label solution for Vindicia’s Subscribe environment, this out-of-the-box pre-selected set of rules provide an easy-to-use intuitive solution.
* **CyberSource Decision Manager** - A premium solution providing additional rules and customized rule sets to determine risk.

**Note:** Merchants need to have a direct contract with CyberSource to implement Cybersource Decision Manager.

Both offered solutions are available to all merchants regardless of the payment provider they use. Cybersource fraud solutions provide score thresholds for low, medium and high risk scoring.Standard rules cover AVS and CVV inputs with more premium conditions available in the CyberSource Decision Manager option. Fraud velocity rules are also supported based on multiple variables such as Device fingerprinting, IP address, email, and more.

Vindicia Subscribe can be configured to map a Review response to either Accept or Reject the transaction. Based on pre-defined rules, Fraud Management Essentials evaluates each transaction and returns a transaction response of Accept, Reject or Review. When the transaction is Accepted by Fraud Management Essentials, it will be forwarded to the payment provider for authorization. When the transaction is Rejected by Fraud Management Essentials, the Reject decision will be returned, and the transaction will not be sent for authorization.
