# Update an Account

Update a specific Account. Any parameters provided will be updated, leaving other parameters unchanged.

## HTTP Request

`POST https://api.vindicia.com/accounts/:account`

## Route (URL) Parameters

| Parameter | Default | Description | Required |
| - | - | - | - |
| account | n/a | The **id**, or the **vid** of the Account to update | Yes |

## Query Parameters

| Parameter Default | Description | Required |
| - | - | - |
| update\_behavior | none | Can be `Validate`, `CatchUp`, `CatchUpOrValidate`. |
| enable\_3ds | none | Query allowed when updating a payment method where the `update_behavior` value is not `update`. |
| replace\_on\_all\_subscriptions | false | If false, then the [Payment Method](Payment_Methods) will not be applied to any subscriptions. If it is true, it will be applied to all. |
| ignore\_avs | false | Overrides any custom or default avs policy. |
| ignore\_cvn | false | Overrides any custom or default cvn policy. |

## Accepts

JSON - This request supports the same arguments as ‘create’ (a full [Account](Accounts) object) excepting the behavior of the **id**; providing an **id** or **vid** in the URL indicates to Subscribe that this is an update, not a create – as such, **id** and **vid** cannot be updated.

## Returns

JSON - A full [Account](Accounts) object representing the new version of the Account.
