# Making Requests

As per RESTful design patterns, the Subscribe API implements the following HTTP verbs:

| Verb | Description |
| :- | :- |
| GET | Retrieve resources (as a list or single record fetch) |
| POST | Create new resources or update existing ones (overloading during create/update is permitted where specified) |
| DELETE | Remove an ownership or hierarchical association between certain resources |

Requests and Responses are made in JSON. When making requests, set the Content-Type header to `application/json`.

Vindicia supports gzip compression. To receive the response body compressed in gzip format, send `content-encoding:gzip` in your request header.

## Example

```
POST /transactions
Content-Type: application/json
Content-Length: 94
{
    "object" : "Transaction",
    "id" : "tx_1234",
    "created" : "2020-01-01T00:55:47Z"
}
```
