# Address

The Address object represents a physical or mailing address.

## Attributes

| tax\_area\_identifier | integer | **For Vertex tax vendor implementation only**: An optional 9 digit value of the tax authority identifier for this address. **Note:** If the Merchant provided tax\_area\_identifier is invalid (i.e., is not an existing tax\_area\_identifier in Vertex), Subscribe will receive an error from Vertex.Subscribe will note this error in the Transaction metadata, and proceed based on Merchant configuration (ACTION\_ON\_TAX\_FAILURE\_ID). For Vertex, tax\_area\_identifier takes precedence over address. If the Merchant provided tax\_area\_identifier exists in Vertex but is incorrect for the provided address, tax impositions will be calculated for jurisdictions associated with the tax\_area\_identifier. |
