# Reason Codes Details Pane

| Field | Guidance | Relevancy |

| **Reason Code** | Enter your own Custom-Defined Merchant Code.**Pause** reason codes can be 4- 15 digits code starting from 1000. For example: **15200**. Cancel reason code can be up to 64 characters long. Letters, digits as well as hyphen (-) and underscore (\_) are supported. All custom reason codes must be unique. | Required |
| **Reason Type** | Select whether the reason you are adding is relevant for canceling or pausing a subscription. | Required |
| **Description** | A meaningful and unique description of up to 255 characters providing a cancellation reason. | Required |
