# Mandate Subobject

The `Mandate` object authorizes Direct Debit charges.

Data members of the `Mandate` object.

| Data Members | Data Type | Description |
| - | - | - |
| `created` | xsd:dateTime | Date and time this `Mandate` was created. |
| `identifier` | xsd:string | Unique reference for this `Mandate`. |
| `status` | Base Type xsd:string | The current status for this `Mandate` (`Pending`, `Active`, `Failed`, `Canceled`, `Expired`). |
